Historic Bungalow Rehab on 5th Avenue
We tackled a gut rehab project on a pre-1920 brick bungalow right off 5th Avenue last November. The alley access was barely wide enough for a pickup, let alone a service truck, and that Hawk wind was cutting right through our heavy coats. If we failed to place the restroom securely within the fenced perimeter, the crew faced trekking two blocks to the gas station, killing productivity during the short daylight hours.
I brought in our compact standard units and used a specialized dolly to maneuver them through the narrow back gate manually. We staked down the unit using heavy-duty anchors into the frozen ground to prevent wind-tipping and set up a twice-weekly service schedule to handle the heavy usage. The crew stayed on site, kept the mud out of the house, and the job finished before the deep freeze hit.
Darnell got that unit right by the back door when other companies refused to drive down the narrow alley.
